My favorite chair for Medical Transcription training is my bed!

A student with a back injury shares how she completes her Medical Transcription training from her bed.

My new set up seems to be working well. My husband is planning to make me something more permanent later. Right now, I am using a small wedge pillow that we put under our kids heads when they were sick. I have a thin board (one with the holes that go on the wall) on top to give it stability. I then have a small piece of nonskid mat with my pedal on it.

The first couple of days, my ankle and leg got a bit tired from operating the pedal at an angle with my laptop on my leg, but I have now adjusted to that. It is working quite well. I am doing all of my typing from bed right now.

Funny Medical Transcription Bloopers

From time to time I run across mistakes that MTs make that are just too funny!  I find them in articles or even in reports, and I hope nobody will mind that I have “borrowed” a few to share.  It just goes to prove how we all must keep in mind the importance of accuracy and the need for careful proofreading of our completed reports.
